Kyle Hutton sets Dosey Doe's concert
This Saturday night, February 27th, at Dosey Doe's Coffeeshop is a special show by favorite host, Kyle Hutton and his band promoting his new CD, Thank God for the Band." Opening for the local favorite is the Marshal Ford Swing Band. The best part of this, is that the cover is only $15. That price is good news in a market where Dosey Doe continues to bring in big names artists attached to a big ticket cover charge. Kyle's CD was produced by the famous Lloyd Maines and Harold Rubens. This collection of riveting songs includes collaborations with Radney Foster, Trent Willmon, and more." Kyle claims that Marshal Ford is a do not miss opener.

Kyle Hutton is a regular host at Dosey Doe's fostering upcoming Texas artists and introducing old favorites. He has the perfect radio voice. I like to listen to his weekly show on KSTAR country 99.7 FM, Sundays at 6:00 p.m.
(I had to take a quick blog break and go play in the snow with my kidlets!)
Last weekend, I cruised up to East Texas close to my small hometown. We went to the Camp Street Caf in Crockett, TX. This venue is really cool. This historic caf/store is the perfect acoustic music setting. A small stage, lots of tables, and chairs. My BF and I went to listen to Slaid Cleves. We first heard him on KPFT a few months ago. The BF called and said, Turn on the radio." I answered, Slaid, what a name!" After that radio show, we bought a CD and have loved listening to Everything you Love will be Taken Away." Slaid was excellent in person, a great show, www.slaidcleves.com.
Grew up in Maine. Lives in Texas. Writes songs. Makes records. Travels around. Tries to be good." Slaid Cleves.
Dinner (before the show)of my cousin's down home good cooking was a highlight of my weekend. If you are ever up in Houston County, check out the music at Camp Street Caf, www.campstreetcafe.com. Don't expect dinner at my cousin's house though that is reserved for family only!!
Oh, tying up a few lose blogging ends, what will we do about Ken Hoffman's tomato planting day? February 21st came and went, and then today! Snow! I'll keep you posted on the garden.
