Sheriff's Office weekly crime reports: Feb. 9
District 2 (South County)
On January 28, 2010, Dep. Jobe responded to a possible Auto Theft in Progress at 24011
Richards Road. Upon arrival at the scene, Dep. Jobe observed the suspect vehicle pulling into
the parking lot just north of the address in question. Dep. Jobe made contact with the driver,
White Male 18 yrs old, and two passengers, White Male 19 yrs old and White Male 18 yrs old,
detaining all until it could be verified the vehicle was not stolen. During the investigation, the
driver appeared extremely nervous and a strong odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle. The driver stated there was a small amount in the center console, however the small amount
found did not seem enough to produce the odor in the vehicle. A further search of the vehicle
found two more bags of marijuana. All subjects denied knowledge of the marijuana and stated it
was not theirs. All subjects were taken into custody and charged with Possession of Marijuana
and transported to the Montgomery County Jail. The 18 yr old passenger was also charged with
Failure to ID-Fugitive from Justice because he gave the officers a fictitious name and booked on
an additional outstanding warrant.
On February 1, 2010 at approximately 2:30 am, Dep. Hernandez responded to a Welfare Check
in the 2700 block of Brookchase Drive. Witnesses reported a man was slumped over inside a
pickup truck that was at a gas pump. Upon arrival Dep. Hernandez made contact with the driver,
White Male 36 yrs old, waking him up. As the driver asked what was going on, Dep. Hernandez
noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver as he spoke. Dep. Hernandez asked the
driver to exit the vehicle to continue questioning and for safety purposes. The driver did not
want to get out, and actively resisted Dep. Hernandez's attempt to remove him. The driver
attempted to wrestle Dep. Hernandez to the ground before being restrained by Dep. Hernandez
and Dep. Jobe, who had arrived on scene to assist. The driver was taken into custody for Public
Intoxication and Resisting Arrest and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
On February 6, 2010, Dep. Swank responded to a Criminal Mischief call on Dunwell Court. The
homeowner stated that her sister's ex-boyfriend had come to her house and ripped up plants in
her front flower bed and damaged her front door. While speaking with the complainant, the
suspect drove up the street. Dep. Swank attempted to stop the vehicle, by flagging him down
with his flashlight. The suspect accelerated and passed by Dep. Swank attempting to flee. Dep.
Swank got into his patrol car, activating his emergency lights and chased after the suspect,
catching up to him on Loggers Chase. The suspect stated he drove away because he didn't want
to get into trouble. The suspect was then taken into custody for Fleeing from a Police Officer
and Criminal Mischief. A search of the suspect, incident to the arrest, found 2 clear bags
containing .17 oz. of Marijuana. An additional charge of Possession of Marijuana was added.
The subject was then transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.
District 6 Lt. David Dottei (Woodlands)
The following Shoplifting arrest(s) were made at 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive:
1/26 - White Female 18 yrs old - The recovered merchandise (3 items) was valued at
$78.98. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County jail without incident.
1/30 - White Male 15 yrs old - The recovered merchandise (4 items) was valued at
$128.00. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention
Facility without incident. His friend, White Male 16 yrs old, received a citation for Theft
for the 1 item valued at $28.00 found in his possession. He was released to a parent that
was called to the store.
1/31- White Female 18 yrs old - The recovered merchandise (2 items) was valued at
$118.98. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County jail without incident.
1/31 - White Female 16 yrs old - The recovered merchandise (3 items) was valued at
$167.96. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention
Facility without incident.
1/31- Black Female 24 yrs old - The recovered merchandise (5 items) was valued at
$220.00. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County jail without incident.
2/1 - White Male 15 yrs old - The recovered merchandise (7 items) was valued at
$223.00. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention
Facility without incident.
2/3 - White Male 15 yrs old - The recovered merchandise (2 items) was valued at $97.50.
The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility
without incident.
2/3 - White Female 16 yrs old - The recovered merchandise (3 items) was valued at
$62.00. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention
Facility without incident.
2/5 - Black Female 30 yrs old - The recovered merchandise (3 items) was valued at
$147.50. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County jail without incident.
2/5 - Black Female 18 yrs old - The recovered merchandise (6 items) was valued at
$112.94. During the course of the shoplifting investigation, the suspect was also found to
be in possession of 5.9 grams of marijuana. An additional charge of Possession of
Marijuana was accepted by the District Attorney's office. The suspect was transported to
the Montgomery County jail without incident.
The following Shoplifting arrest(s) were made at 3040 College Park Drive:
1/31- White Male 18 yrs old - The recovered merchandise (3 items) was valued at
$104.74. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
1/31- White Male 24 yrs old - The recovered merchandise (2 items) was valued at
$75.76. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
2/2 - White Female 28 yrs old - The recovered merchandise (6 items) was valued at
$168.62 The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
The following additional arrests were made:
2/1 - White Female 49 yrs old - was arrested after a traffic stop of a vehicle matching the
description of a vehicle leaving the scene of a Criminal Mischief on Painted Sunset. The suspect
admitted to throwing rocks through the homeowners windows and vehicle as well as slashing the
tires on his vehicle. The suspect showed officers where the knives were hidden in her vehicle.
The on-call Assistant District Attorney was notified and charges for Criminal Mischief were
accepted. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.
District 4 Lt. David Park (West County)
On February 6th at approximately 9:00 pm MCSO Deputy Herman was dispatched to Brushy
Trail in reference to an Assault in Progress. Upon arrival the Deputy made contact with a male
Complainant and a male subject. The Complainant stated that the male subject became angry at
another person. The subject was very angry and the Complainant was trying to calm him down
and they began to fight. The male subject pushed the Complainant to the ground. Both parties
had been drinking and were intoxicated. The subject was placed into custody and charged with
Assault.
On February 4th at approximately 9:00 am MCSO Deputies Hahs and Gonzalez along with
Corporal Bybee were dispatched to the Hazy Hollow subdivision for an Assault in Progress call.
Upon arrival the male subject involved was placed in custody. The Deputies located the
Complainant across the street at a neighbor's house. The Deputies found a plastic bag containing
a green leafy substance and a second small plastic bag with a small amount of crystal substance
and a razor blade. This substance tested positive for Meth Amphetamine. The male subject was
arrested for Assault (Family Violence) and the female subject was arrested for Possession of
Marijuana and Possession of Control Substance (Meth) State Jail Felony charge.
On February 2nd at approximately 10:30 pm MCSO Sgt Russell was dispatched to an Attempt to
Locate (ATL) in reference to a possibly intoxicated driver traveling westbound on FM 1488.
The Witness had advised the driver had struck a concrete retainer wall and continued west
turning onto Octavia Drive. Sgt Russell located the vehicle in a ditch and engine was still
running and the female driver was in the vehicle. She was arrested for DWI 2nd and
transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
On February 2nd at approximately 9:00 pm MCSO Deputy Herman was dispatched to Easy Street
for a Family Violence. Upon arrival Deputy Herman made contact with the male subject and the
female Complainant. It was discovered during an argument the male subject made a verbal
threat. The male subject was placed into custody and transported to the Montgomery County
Jail.
On February 1st at approximately 8:30 pm while patrolling the Woodtrace Subdivision MCSO
Corporal Sumrall observed a vehicle parked in the middle of Reynosa Ct with no lights on. As
the Corporal approached the vehicle with his spot light turned on he observed a male subject
sitting in the driver's seat. As the Corporal exited his vehicle and approached the male he
observed the subject trying to conceal something. The deputy found a small amount of cocaine. The subject was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance (State Jail Felony)
and transported to Montgomery County Jail.
On January 30th at approximately 2:30 am MCSO Deputy Zavorski responded to an assist call
for a Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission (TABC) officer at Billiar Los Primos Bar on Weakly
Way. After a search the officers located a Hispanic male asleep in a vehicle. Deputy Zavorski
observed white powder on the edge of his nostrils and the inside of his nose. The male was
extremely impaired and had trouble standing on his own. He also seemed to be disoriented. 1.6
grams of the white powdery substance was found. The substance tested positive for cocaine.
The male subject was arrested for Public Intoxication and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.
