Wear red, save a few bucks, help a good cause
We've all heard of Black Friday, but how about Red Friday?
Tomorrow, Feb. 5, is National Wear Red Day.
It's part of Go Red For Women, an American Heart Association campaign to raise awareness of heart disease in females.
At Macy's in The Woodlands Mall, shoppers dressed in red will get an additional 20 percent off purchases throughout the store. If you don't need anything but want to support the cause, Macy's will also be selling Red Dress Pins for $2. All proceeds from pin sales will go to the American Heart Association.
At Sun & Ski Sports, stores will donate 5 percent of sales to the American Heart Association, and customers wearing red will receive $10 off any purchase of $50 or more.
Employees at St. Luke's The Woodlands Hospital are encouraged to get involved as well. Those who wear red will receive a special "heart healthy" treat in the cafeteria Friday morning.
