College Park grad Shafer contributes to Rice victory
The Woodlands College Park High School graduate Megan Shafer scored two points in Rice University's 71-61 home win over conference rival Marshall University on Sunday, Feb. 24 at Tudor Fieldhouse in Houston, the Rice website reported.
Shafer also recorded one assist for the Owls, who improved to 12-14 on the season and 4-9 in the C-USA.
Rice's next game is 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 at University of Texas at El Paso.
Shafer is a sophomore forward for Rice University. She is a 2011 graduate of College Park in The Woodlands, where she was McDonald's All-American nominee. A four-year letter winner and two-year starter for coach Michelle Richardson, Shafer is from The Woodlands and is the daughter of Eddie and Fran Shafer.
