College Park grad Cooper helps Hartford to victory
The Woodlands College Park High School graduate Evan Cooper scored seven points in the University of Hartford's 49-44 home win over conference rival University of New Hampshire on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Chase Family Arena in West Hartford, Conn., the team's website reported.
The freshman guard also recorded one rebound and a steal for the Hawks, who improved to 15-12 on the season and 8-6 in the America East Conference.
Hartford's next game is 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 at home against University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Cooper is a 2012 graduate of College Park High School in The Woodlands, where he was named The Courier's All-Montgomery County Player of the Year, and also earned the District 14-5A Most Valuable Player award and was named First Team All-District 14-4A, for scoring 75 points with four rebounds and three steals during his senior year. The international studies major is from Houston.
