VFW Post and Ladies Auxiliary 12024 honor Vietnam veterans

VFW Post and Ladies Auxiliary 12024 held a Veterans Appreciation Barbecue on Jan. 27.

VFW Post and Ladies Auxiliary 12024 hosted their second annual Veterans Appreciation Barbecue Sunday, Jan. 27.

"We wanted to give our Vietnam veterans a much-deserved welcome home, and what better day than the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam Peace Accord. We were honored to have with us Gold Star and Blue Star families, Rolling Thunder sponsoring the Texas Fallen Heroes Memorial Wall, and a special guest appearance by Congressman Kevin Brady," according to a press release from the VFW post.

"Our post and auxiliary strive to make a difference in our community and in the lives of our veterans and families," said Carl Smith, commander, according to the release.

The event was held at the Tall Timbers Community Center, 9134 Texas 242, Conroe.

VFW Post and Ladies Auxiliary 12024 is located at 2235 Lake Robbins Drive, Spring.
