Conroe grad Martin scores 10 points in Sam Houston State loss
Conroe High School graduate Britni Martin scored 10 points in Sam Houston State University's 90-40 loss to conference rival Oral Roberts University on Feb. 14, according to Sam Houston State's website.
The senior forward also recorded four rebounds, one steal and one block for the Bearkats who are 13-11 on the season and 9-3 in the Southland Conference.
Sam Houston State's next game is 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 on the road against the University of Central Arkansas.
Martin is a 2009 graduate of Conroe High School where she was an all-greater Houston and all-district player on the basketball court for coach Deidre Hinze. As a senior, Martin averaged 17.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. Martin was a McDonalds All-America candidate. She was also one of the top scorers in the 2008 Texas Girls Basketball Association All-Star Game. Martin was a three-time all-district selection and was the district's newcomer of the year as a freshman. She was a four-time academic all-district honoree and earned all-district honors on the soccer field as well. Martin was a member of the National Honor Society. She is from Conroe.
