College Park grad Shafer plays in Rice loss
College Park graduate Megan Shafer played for Rice University in its 73-51 loss to conference rival SMU Sunday, Jan. 20, in Dallas, the Rice website reported.
Shafer and the Owls are 9-8 on the season and 1-3 in the Conference USA.
The next game for Rice is at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 at home against UTEP.
Shafer is a sophomore forward for Rice University. She is a 2011 graduate of College Park in The Woodlands, where she was McDonald's All-American nominee. A four-year letter winner and two-year starter for coach Michelle Richardson, Shafer is from The Woodlands and is the daughter of Eddie and Fran Shafer.
