College Park grad Shafer plays in Rice loss
College Park graduate Megan Shafer played for Rice in its 69-65 loss at home to conference rival Tulane Thursday, Jan. 17, at Tudor Fieldhouse in Houston, the Rice website reported.
Shafer and the Owls are 9-7 on the season and 1-2 in conference. Rice's next game is 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20 at SMU.
Shafer is a sophomore forward for Rice University. She is a 2011 graduate of College Park in The Woodlands, where she was McDonald's All-American nominee. A four-year letter winner and two-year starter for coach Michelle Richardson, Shafer is from The Woodlands and is the daughter of Eddie and Fran Shafer.
