Eight Magnolia runners complete Chevron Houston Marathon
Eight Magnolia athletes completed the Chevron Houston Marathon on Sunday, Jan. 13 in Houston.
The runners from Magnolia and their finishing times were Cord Mance, 37, 3:49:02; Jeremy Szydlowski, 28, 4:17:44; Claire Farnquist, 27, 4:19:55; Janet Barzilla, 35, 4:44:06; Joshua Williams, 28, 4:44:32; Daniel Owen, 28, 4:52:28; James Trimble, 50, 5:00:46; and Eric Sonny, 42, 6:01:21.
Race organizers said 6,676 runners finished the 26.2-mile race, which began at Minute Maid Park and ended at George R. Brown Convention Center.
Bazu Worku, of Ethiopia, was the men's overall winner with a finishing time of 2:10:17, while Merima Mohammed, also of Ethiopia, was the winner in the women's category with a time of 2:23:37.
