According to a George Mitchell Nature Preserve Pedestrian Bridge press release, "The steel truss bridge is 70 feet long and 8 feet wide and connects both Harris and Montgomery Counties along with the villages of Indian Springs and Creekside Park. The nature preserve was taken into consideration when building the pedestrian bridge."
“Preservation of the existing forest during construction was one of the goals of the project," said Bob Bruce, Director of Landscape Architecture for The Woodlands Development Company, according to the release. "The bridge and site were built without the use of heavy equipment at the location."
