The Woodlands Townships Neighborhood Services earns award
The Woodlands Townships Neighborhood Services has been given the Community Based Crime Prevention Program of the Year award by the International Society of Crime Prevention Practitioners.
According to an organization release, "This award spotlights the outstanding non-police community-based crime prevention program that enhances crime prevention initiatives at the local, state or national level."
The Woodlands Township was founded less than a decade ago with the merger of Community Associations of The Woodlands and the Town Center Improvement District of Montgomery County. Its purpose is to provide governmental services for businesses and residents in The Woodlands, including police, fire protection, and parks and recreation.
Bruce Tough is chairman of the township's board. Administrative offices are located at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., The Woodlands.
