College Park grad Cooper helps in Hartford victory
College Park High School graduate Evan Cooper scored 15 points to help Hartford University win 71-68 at home over conference rival Binghamton Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Chase Family Arena in West Hartford, Conn., the Hartford website reported.
Cooper also recorded two assists and grabbed two steals for the Hawks, who improved to 8-6 on the season and 1-0 in the America East Conference.
Hartford's next game is 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at Boston University.
Cooper is a freshman guard for University of Hartford. He is a 2012 graduate of College Park High School in The Woodlands where he was named The Courier's All-Montgomery County Player of the Year, and also earned the District 14-5A Most Valuable Player award and was named First Team All-District 14-4A, for scoring 75 points with four rebounds and three steals during his senior year. The international studies major is from Houston.
