College Park grad Shafer plays in Rice loss
College Park High School graduate Megan Shafer played for Rice in its 80-57 loss to Texas A&M on New Year's Day at Reed Arena in College Station, Rice's website reported.
Shafer recorded two rebounds and an assist for the Owls, who are 8-5 on the season.
Rice's next game is 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at East Carolina.
Shafer is a sophomore forward for Rice University. She is a 2011 graduate of College Park in The Woodlands, where she was McDonald's All-American nominee. A four-year letter winner and two-year starter for coach Michelle Richardson, Shafer is from The Woodlands and is the daughter of Eddie and Fran Shafer.
