College Park grad Shafer contributes to Rice victory
The Woodlands College Park High School graduate Megan Shafer scored one point as Rice defeated Lamar 62-56 on home court Sunday, Dec. 30, at Tudor Fieldhouse in Houston, Rice's website reported.
The sophomore forward also recorded an assist for the Owls, who improved to 8-4 on the season.
Rice's next game is 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1 at Texas A&M University.
Shaferis a 2011 graduate of College Park in The Woodlands, where she was McDonald's All-American nominee. A four-year letter winner and two-year starter for coach Michelle Richardson, Shafer is from The Woodlands and is the daughter of Eddie and Fran Shafer.
