The Woodlands athletes in action: Men's basketball
The following men's basketball player with a The Woodlands high school tie has scheduled action this week:
Joe Carr, Virginia Military Institute
High school: The Woodlands High School
This week:
Wednesday, Jan. 2 vs. Gardner-Webb University
Saturday, Jan. 5 vs. Presbyterian College
About Carr: He played Woodlands Christian Academy basketball from 2006-2009, leading them to the TAPPS State Championship his junior and senior years.
He was also named District Player of the Year for two seasons while also earning all-state honors for three consecutive seasons.
In addition to playing for Woodlands Christian Academy, Carr was selected to play in the Canary Island International Basketball Tournament, where he played against teams from Spain and the Canary Islands.
Team captain and Montgomery County Player of the Year for two seasons, Carr also was a finalist for the Conroe Rotary Club Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
