The Woodlands kindergartners create holiday cards for local seniors
More than 1,000 kindergartners from 12 Woodlands-area schools created cards and shared holiday cheer with local senior citizens this season.
According to a press release from Comfort Keepers, on Friday, Dec. 21, a group of kindergartners representing Buckalew, John Cooper, Coulson Tough, David, Deretchin and Ride elementary schools personally delivered their cards to a group of residents at The Village at The Woodlands Waterway. The residents had also gathered in groups and made large cards for the kindergartners.
Other students who also participated in the Comforting Cards for the Holidays program include kindergarten classes from Galatas, Primrose — Sterling Ridge, Powell, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School, The Woodlands Preparatory School and The Woodlands Young Learners Academy.
Facilities and groups that received cards included Autumn Grove Cottage, Autumn Leaves, HealthSouth, Magnolia House, Montgomery County Friendship Center, Nexus Specialty Hospital, Park Manor of The Woodlands, Reliant North Houston, Silverado Senior Living, The Conservatory at Alden Bridge and The Terrace.
The Comforting Cards for the Holidays program is now in its third year. Comfort Keepers, a provider of nonmedical in home and facility care, sponsors the exchange. The Woodlands residents Mike and Margie Painter own the local Comfort Keepers.
