The Woodlands athletes in action: College basketball

The following men's basketball players, both with high school ties to The Woodlands, have scheduled action this week:

Evan Cooper, University of Hartford
Position: Guard
High school: The Woodlands College Park High
This week: Saturday, Dec. 29, at University of Colorado Boulder
About Cooper: Cooper is a freshman guard for the University of Hartford.He is a 2012 graduate of College Park High School in The Woodlands where he was named The Courier's All-Montgomery County Player of the Year, and also earned the District 14-5A Most Valuable Player award and was named First Team All-District 14-4A, for scoring 75 points with four rebounds and three steals during his senior year. The international studies major is from Houston.

Wes Cole, University of Hartford
Position: Guard
High school: The Woodlands High
This week: Saturday, Dec. 29, at University of Colorado Boulder
About Cole: Cole is a sophomore guard for the University of Hartford.He is a 2011 graduate of The Woodlands High School, where he was first team 14-5A All-District selection as a junior and senior. He was Montgomery County offensive MVP as a senior, and also a Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-Region and All-State honoree that season, when he scored 1,276 points. The insurance, finance major is from The Woodlands.
