Magnolia West High School students study food leavening agents with cookie lab
Magnolia West High School food science students recently studied leavening agents with a chocolate chip cookies lab.
According to a press release from Magnolia West High School, "To bring the material to life, students altered a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe to create different textures of cookies. Textures varied from thin, to puffy, to chewy. Students not only were able to utilize their knowledge on leavening agents, but also were able to enjoy a tasty lab. To continue their journey on leavening agents, students will next work with yeast in creating their own pizza dough."
The school made the announcement on Monday, Dec. 10.
Magnolia West High School is at 42202 FM 1774, Magnolia. For more information, call 281-252-2550 or visit www.magnoliaisd.org.
