College Park grad Shafer contributes to Rice University victory over Chicago State
Megan Shafer, a College Park High School graduate, is a sophomore guard for the Rice University women's basketball team.
College Park graduate Megan Shafer played for Rice University in a 68-42 win at home against Chicago State University on Thursday, Dec. 13 at Tudor Fieldhouse in Houston.
The Rice University sophomore forward recorded two blocks for the Owls, who improved to 4-4 on the season, according to Rice University's website.
Rice University's next game is at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 against Stephen F. Austin State University.
Shafer is a 2011 graduate of College Park in The Woodlands, where she was a McDonald's All-American nominee. A four-year letter winner and two-year starter for coach Michelle Richardson, Shafer is from The Woodlands and is the daughter of Eddie and Fran Shafer.
