Interfaith of The Woodland holds Healthy Kids Festival
Interfaith Community Clinic recently held the 2012 Healthy Kids Festival at Travis Intermediate School.
According to a press release, more than 60 children participated in games, ate in healthy snacks and competed for a chance to win a bicycle. They also received information about resources, home safety and nutrition, and those age 2 to 14 were eligible for free dental and medical checkups.
"This annual event is a very important opportunity for families with children who do not have health insurance, and who otherwise may not see a doctor or dentist unless they were sick or in pain," Dr. Ann Snyder, president and CEO of Interfaith Community Clinic, said in the release. "But more important is if the volunteer dentists or doctors discover a health issue that needs attention, further care is provided free of charge at the Interfaith Community Clinic."
