The Woodlands grad contributes to Virginia Military Institute victory
The Woodlands High School graduate Joe Carr contributed in the Virginia Military Institute's 76-71 win over Old Dominion on Nov. 21 in college basketball action.
According to Virginia Military Institute's website, the game took place at Constant Center in Norfolk, Va. With the win, the Virginia Military Institute Keydets improved to 2-3 on the season.
Virginia Military Institute's next game is at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 at home against Elon.
Carr played for The Woodlands Christian Academy basketball team from 2006-09 leading the team to the TAPPS State Championship his junior and senior year. He was also named district player of the year for two seasons while also earning all-state honors for three consecutive seasons. In addition to playing for The Woodlands Christian Academy, Carr was selected to play in the Canary Island Internatinal Basketball Tournament; he played against teams from Spain and the Canary Islands.
