Montgomery County Heart Walk scheduled for Saturday
The 2012 Montgomery County Heart Walk will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at Aon-Hewitt Northshore Park, 9500 Lakeside Blvd., The Woodlands.
More than 3,000 groups and individuals are expected to participate in the non-competitive 5K walk to raise money to fight heart disease and stroke and help to build awareness and strengthen education.
A fundraising goal of $400,000 has been set by the American Heart Association.
"The Heart Walk is fully aligned with TETRA's focus on employee wellness," Stu Brightman, chairman of the walk and president of Tetra Technologies, said in a press release. "Our employees are always excited to be active participants in the walk. I invite you to join TETRA and walk for healthier lives."
The park opens to walkers at 8 a.m., with an opening ceremony taking place at 8:30 a.m. The walk officially starts at 9 a.m.
Included at the event are heart-healthy giveaways for the whole family, the sharing of survivor stories and presentation of the Lifestyle Change Award, Top Walker Award and Top Heart Walk Team Award.
