Conroe ISD presented with Texas Honors Circle District Award
The Conroe ISD board of trustees received the Texas Honors Circle District Award from Sen. Tommy Williams Tuesday, Oct. 16.
Conroe ISD is only one of 11 public school districts to receive the award for three straight years. It comes from Texas Comptroller Susan Combs's Financial Allocation Study for Texas (FAST) ratings.
"I am very pleased with the comptroller's five-star rating for the third consecutive year," Superintendent Don Stockton said in a press release. "I am proud of our students' success and the district's financial efficiency. The five-star rating is the result of the hard work of the students, faculty, staff and board of trustees along with the support of our parents and community, who are all committed to academic excellence."
FAST ratings are given to Texas school districts and individual school campuses using a formula that assigns them a rating of one to five stars in half-star increments. The districts that rank among the top 20 percent in academic progress while keeping spending in the lowest 20 percent of fiscally-comparable districts earn a rating of five stars.
