Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion launches app
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion has launched a new app for iOS devices including the iPhone, iPad and iPod.
The app allows guests to get detailed event information, purchase event tickets, add specific events to a favorites list, scroll over an interactive map to locate concession stands or restrooms, sign up for the newsletter and find out about guest information.
“We are excited to launch our app and cannot wait for our fans to start using it,” said CEO of The Pavilion, Jerry MacDonald. “We hope concertgoers use the application as a tool to find information about The Pavilion quickly and easily.”

Woodlands Financial has plans to expand
The Woodlands Financial Group, which is listed high among the Top 100 privately held independent P/C insurance agencies in the country, has announced plans to substantially expand its network.
Training classes were recently concluded at TWFG headquarters for new branches that will open in California, Virginia, Delaware, Illinois, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas.
President and CEO of the retail and wholesale general agency Gordy Bunch led the classes.
More than 200 new agents joined the company, which brings its total to 285 retail branches in 20 states and 2,200 independent agents in 38 states.

Performing Arts Society honors past president
The Montgomery County Performing Arts Society’s Stars awarded Sharon Shaw of The Woodlands its Special Gift of Appreciation Sept. 27.
Shaw received the award from Mary Wagers Smith, president of the Montgomery County Performing Arts Society’s Stars.
Shaw, the immediate past president of the society, has worked with the organization for 15 years in a variety of capacities.

LSC-Montgomery puts faculty art on exhibit
Lone Star College-Montgomery is featuring art made by faculty members at the college through Tuesday, Oct. 30, in the college’s Mary Matteson-Parrish Art Gallery in the Performing Arts Center in Building D.
The Faculty Art Exhibit features a variety of pieces, including ceramics, glass, mixed media and jewelry. The collection was made by faculty members Jon Adelmen, Michael Brown, Deborah Ellington, Denise Lorenz, Shelly Murney, Joe Pirog, Patricia Ramsey, Cynthia Reid, Robby Wood, Linda Woodward and Malinda Wright.
The exhibit is free to the community. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday-Friday.

Woodlands Prep team participates in CASA Fun Run
The Woodlands Preparatory School’s Cross Country team participated in the second annual Court Appointed Special Advocates Fun Run Sept. 15.
According to a press release, approximately 270 people ran the race.
Senior Doug Begin finished third, and eighthgrader Garrett Groppell fnished fifth.
CASA is an organization that provides advocates for children that are victims of abuse or abandonment and are in Child Protective Services
