Woodlands Township Board of Directors meeting agenda, Sept. 26

The Woodlands Township Board of Directors will discuss highway improvement projects and public transit for the Conroe/Woodlands area at its upcoming meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26.

According to the agenda provided by the board, the group will discuss a resolution on the following Woodlands Road Utility District No. 1 projects: grade-separated overpass at Research Forest Drive and Grogan's Mill Road; northbound-to-westbound direct connector at IH-45 and Research Forest Drive; and the northbound braided ramp at IH-45 and State Highway 242. Discussion also is planned on an interlocal agreement between the city of Conroe and the township on public transit programs or service between the Conroe and Woodlands areas.

Other business on the regular meeting agenda includes to receive, consider and act upon sports field amenities; bids for reforestation; and actuarial services for the proposed pension plan of the Texas Local Firefighters Retirement Act.

The Woodlands Township was founded less than a decade ago with the merger of community associations of The Woodlands and the Town Center Improvement District of Montgomery County. Its purpose is to provide governmental services for businesses and residents in The Woodlands, including police, fire protection and parks and recreation.

Bruce Tough is chairman of the township's board.
