Montgomery County constables arrest alleged child predator
Montgomery County constables arrested a Lafayette, La., man accused of sexually abusing his young daughter and exposing himself to young girls via Facebook.
Duane Charles Parker, 49, faces two counts of online solicitation of a minor and one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child after his Aug. 13 arrest at a restaurant on I-45 in Webster, according to a Montgomery County Precinct 4 news release. Constables say he was in town on business.
The arrest followed an investigation into allegations Parker sent inappropriate sexual messages, as well as webcam video of him exposing himself and engaging in lewd acts, to pre-teen girls he friended on Facebook, according to the release.
"He's the person you warn your kids about, and the reason we have to teach our children not to talk to strangers in person or online, even if they seem nice," Constable Kenneth Rowdy Hayden said in the press release. "At almost 50 years old, Mr. Parker managed to befriend well over a dozen little girls without their parents' knowledge with the intention of using them for his own twisted sexual gratification."
A complaint by an East Montgomery County mother spurred the investigation, a multi-agency effort led by Montgomery County Precinct 4, according to the release. Investigators reported that the mother contacted authorities after Parker allegedly sent her daughter a message that began, "hey Beautiful, omg ur so Beautiful ur a dream ur someone id love to be mine" and "I know I may scar(e) u but im safe loving and could only love you."
Parker, who is also known as Parker Duane and Johnny Pepper, was investigated in 2008 for sexually abusing his 6-year-old daughter and was convicted in 2010 of exposing himself to a 17-year-old Starbucks employee at the drive-thru window, according to the release.
Authorities think there could be other victims and urge them to contact the Montgomery County Cpt. Mark Seals at 281-577-8985.
