Three area golfers earn berths to U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur
Erica Pressley and Jessica Surber, both of The Woodlands, and Houston's Meghan Moake were among the nine qualifiers to the USGA's Mid-Amateur after the Aug. 28 qualifying event at the River Oaks Country Club in Houston. Moake shot an 82, while Pressley finished with an 83 and Surber carded an 84. Stacy Dennis, of Huntsville, was the medalist with a 73, one over par. Moake's score was good enough for the fifth qualifying spot, while Pressley (eighth) and Surber (ninth) grabbed the final two berths. The Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio will host the 26th U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Oct. 6-11. For more information, visit www.ghintpp.com/txga.
