Online registration open for YMCA's Run Thru the Woods
The annual YMCA Run Thru the Woods is slated for Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22.
Online registration is now open for the charity race and will close at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20. Races are the 5-mile course, 1-mile kid's course and a 3-mile run or walk course. The first race will kick off at 7:45 a.m. and the last at 8:35 a.m. The race will be at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands.
Early registration deadline is Thursday, Nov. 8. Participants that register by that date are guaranteed a T-shirt. Registration fees are $25 for the children's race and $30 for the 3-mile race and 5-mile race and $25 for the 3-mile walk. After Nov. 8, prices increase by $5.
Walk in registration prices the day of the race are $40 for the children's race, $45 for the 3-mile and 5-mile races and $35 for the 3-mile walk.
A pancake breakfast will be available to all participants on race day morning followed by a post-race party at the pavilion.
All participants are asked to bring canned goods to the race for the canned food drive for the Can-N-Keys Christian Food Bank. Collection locations will be in the parking lot and in the Pavilion. Drop off sites are also available at the South Montgomery County YMCAs in November.
The following roads will be closed for the race starting at 4:30 a.m. through 10 a.m. on race day: Lake Robbins Drive between Six Pines Drive and Grogan's Mill Road, Six Pines Drive between Lake Woodlands Drive and Lake Robbins Drive intersection, Lake Woodlands Drive at Six Pines Drive and east over I-45 and Timberloch Place from Grogan's Mill Road to the I-45 feeder.
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is at 2005 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands.
