City of Conroe to offer affordable after-school program
The city of Conroe is providing an after-school program that will assist students with homework and provide recreational opportunities until 6:30 p.m. after school releases. For residents, the cost is $90 per month, $110 for nonresidents. Financial assistance is available for families who qualify. According to the city's website, locations for the after-school program includes: Anderson, Armstrong, Reaves, Runyan, Sam Houston and Wilkinson, all of which serve children attending those schools. The Oscar Johnson Jr. Community Center serves children from Bozman, Cryar, Giesinger, Rice and Travis, with transportation provided from those schools back to the center.
