Registration opens for CASA Superhero 5K run

Registration is open for the third Court Appointed Special Advocates Superhero 5K, which will take place at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 at W. Goodrich Jones State Forest.   According to The Woodlands Running Club's website, registration for the race will continue until 10 p.m. CST on Thursday, Sept. 13. The site also notes that a kids 1K for children ages 12 and younger will take place at 8 a.m. the morning of the race.   The cost to register for the 5K is $25 through Wednesday, Aug. 15; $30 from Thursday, Aug. 16 to Friday, Sept. 14; and $40 the day of the race. The kids 1K is $10.   Refreshments will be served after the race, with an awards ceremony beginning at 9:30 a.m., according to the website.   For more information or to register, visit www.casaspeaks4kids.com/5K.html.
