Sign up for 14th Annual YMCA Dragon Boat Team Challenge
Registration is still open for the 2012 YMCA Dragon Boat Team Challenge, presented by Aon Hewitt.
The event will be held Thursday, Sept. 27 to Sunday, Sept. 30 at Northshore Park and Lake Woodlands.
The four-day event will feature six different team activities with the Dragon Boat Races serving as the main event. Dragon boats are forty-foot long dragon-headed canoes that teams will race, working together as one synchronized unit.
The event is designed to build community spirit among corporations, civic groups and community organizations.
There will also be a High School Division for students in ninth to 12th grade for student clubs, sports teams, band, student ministry groups or other organizations.
All team activities will be organized and facilitated by the YMCA. Equipment, a team tent, water and ice, T-shirt, rules and instructions will be all provided. The YMCA staff will consist of professionals, volunteers and safety/security agencies.
The venue sponsor of the event is The Woodlands Township.
To register, visit the YMCA located at 6145 Shadowbend Place, in The Woodlands. Team registration forms are available at ymcadragonboat.org. Limited space is available, so participants should register as soon as possible.
