Project management, career growth seminar offered Aug. 23

Lone Star Corporate College will sponsor a project management seminar from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23.

Presenters include Rashid N.Kapadia, Wartsila manager, and Wayne Elmore, Wartsila regional sales director, will discuss the importance of developing project management skills and how these skills transformed the Finnish power plant company Wartsila into a globally recognized business.

The talk will feature a case study about Wartsila, a 175 year-old Finnish company, titled From Trial and Error to a Recognized the Global Turn-Key Supplier: The Wartsila Power Plant Story. Kapadia and Elmore will also offer tips on how to grow a career with project management skills. The program offers 1.5 continuing education credits and costs $25 per person, lunch included. It will take place at the Lone Star Community Building, located at 5000 Research Forest Drive, in The Woodlands.
