Williams-Sonoma at The Woodlands Mall offers cooking and technique classes
Classes on preserving food, fixing fast meals and grinding grains are some of the upcoming courses at Williams-Sonoma at The Woodlands Mall.
Chefs and brothers Max and Eli Sussman will demonstrate quick and easy meals at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19 in a free class. They will demonstrate simple and classic recipes for busy weeknights.
Chef Piera will demonstrate recipes from the Family Meals cookbook at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20. Recipes include chunky applesauce, mashed potatoes, grilled five-spice pork chops and apricot crumble. Cost is $30 per person, which includes the recipes and meal samples. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 281-298-6915.
Grinding grains is the topic of the free class offered at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26. Chef Dan Barber, of Blue Hill Restaurant in New York, will discuss grinding grain and offer recipes for gluten-free pancakes and farina risotto.
The final August class on grilling will be taught by Chef Piera at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27. Recipes will be taken from the Food Made Fast series. The menu is herbed flank steak with tomatoes, pork chops with peaches, Portobello mushrooms with prosciutto and fontina and pesto shrimp on mixed greens. Cost for the class is $30. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 281-298-6915.
Space for classes are on a first-come, first-serve basis, and cancelations must be made 48 hours in advance to receive a full refund of payment.
