Woodlands native Almaguer receives degree from Princeton Theological Seminary
Austin R. Almaguer, of The Woodlands, was among the 193 graduates of Princeton Theological Seminary at commencement exercises held Saturday, May 19.
Almaguer received a master's degree in Divinity and was also was given The Samuel Wilson Blizzard Award at the school's 200th commencement.
The Master of Divinity is a three-year graduate degree that is the basic professional degree for ministry. Almaguer will serve as a pastoral resident or intern at Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas.
Almaguer graduated cum laude from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in religion and philosophy in 2009. He plans to serve congregations or ministries of diverse, urban contexts in the future, according to a personal website.
Princeton Theological Seminary was founded in 1812 as the first theological school of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church. It is the largest Presbyterian seminary in the country. More than 10,000 alumni are serving throughout the world.
