Artist Expo, Lone Star Art Guild to hold joint 2013 conventions
The Lone Star Art Guild has accepted an invitation from the Artist Expo to hold its 2013 annual convention in conjunction with the Artist Expo's annual convention from July 16-20 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center, 1601 Lake Robbins Drive in The Woodlands.
Artist Expo agreed to underwrite all of the facility needs for the entire LSAG convention.
"It is a great pleasure to have the LSAG organization join us for the common goal of bringing all forms of art together for all ages and skill levels," said Artist Expo owner Tim Mulvey in a press release.
The Lone Star Art Guild is a 501(c)3 organization that covers 22 independent art leagues within a 200-mile radius of Houston. LSAG members gather annually for demonstrations by world-renowned artists; take part in a juried art show of the winners from that year's independent league shows; and attend an awards ceremony/reception recognizing the convention's overall art show winners.
Artist Expo has brought artists, teachers and students from across the country into the Houston area for eight years for an assortment of educational art classes that encompass all art techniques and styles. It also is committed to philanthropic service and provides scholarships and donations for art education throughout the local community.
