Woodlands Township Board presents overview of proposed budget

The Woodlands Township Board of Directors met at 7 p.m. on July 25 to present the proposed 2013 budget.

Township Assistant General Manager for Finance and Administration, Monique Sharp made the main presentation. It included a five-year consolidated budget plan, with expected sources of revenue, expenditures, debt service and capital projects.

According to Sharp's research, presented after the meeting in a press release, the finances of Woodlands Township are in good condition because of the strong business climate of The Woodlands.

Under the proposed 2013 budget, the following services would be funded: community policing and law enforcement, The Woodlands Fire Department, covenant administration, parks and pathways, aquatics, neighborhood services, garbage collection and recycling, community maintenance, capital projects, debt service, community relations, environmental services, Regional Participation Agreements with Houston and Conroe, Town Center amenities, Convention and Visitors Bureau, community events promotion and economic development.
