Montgomery County Sheriff investigates attempted murder-suicide in Degas Park
A local man shot his wife several times before shooting and killing himself on July 24 in The Woodlands.
Officers found 60-year-old Billy Terry dead from a single gunshot wound to the chest after they forced their way into the Degas Park home just before 8 p.m., according to a Montgomery County Sheriff's Office news release.
The woman, who had been shot several times, was reportedly talking on the telephone to Montgomery County dispatchers when deputies arrived.
A helicopter airlifted the victim to a local hospital for treatment. Officers say she will most likely survive her injuries.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Texas Rangers and the District Attorney's Office are investigating the crime as an attempted murder-suicide, according to the release.
