Oman to represent Montgomery County Youth Services
John Bracken, executive director of Montgomery County Youth Services, left, stands with Paul Oman, partner at Oman, Berry & Associates PLLC after Oman participated in a sparring event for Fight for A Cause last year.
Local businessman Paul Oman and other business and community leaders will be raising money for Montgomery County Youth Services by squaring off in a boxing match in September.
Oman, who is being sponsored by tax accounting firm Oman, Berry & Associations PLLC, will spar in Fight for A Cause. The boxing event, organized by the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber, will be held from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 at Sports Culture, located at 26419 Oak Ridge Drive, in The Woodlands.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Montgomery County Youth Services, a private, nonprofit counseling agency that provides social services programs such as substance abuse prevention and education and crisis counseling to the county's families and children in need. The United Way agency also operates an emergency shelter for neglected and abused children called BridgeWay and Fairway Home, a transitional living program for homeless children.
Last year's boxing event raised $25,000 for local charities.
