Willauer is a product line director at Baker Hughes, an oilfield services company. He previously served the company as a technology director. He has also served as an engineering manager at Baker Oil Tools and as a development engineer at Coil Tubing Services.

He holds a B.S. and an M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas.
