Aside from that, he has been the vice president of operations at ADViSYS Inc., a biotech company specializing in hormone therapy. He has also been a key account manager at Qiagen GMBH and a senior manager of bioprocessing at Valentis, both drug development and distribution firms. In addition, he has been a production manager and scientist at GeneMedicine Inc.

He received a bachelor's degree in zoology from Texas A&M University and a master of business administration from the university's Mays Business School.
