Registration still open for Woodlands Golf Championship
Registration for the third annual Woodlands Golf Championship and Community Scramble began May 11.
Local community leaders, PGA Tour professional Roland Thatcher and members of The Woodlands Golf Championship Committee gathered at Market Street to kick off the upcoming event, to be held Nov. 12 and Nov. 13 at the tournament course of The Woodlands Country Club and the Fazio Course of The Club at Carlton Woods.
The event is presented by Richie's Specialty Pharmacy for the benefit of Interfaith of The Woodlands.
For a player to qualify for the tournament, he or she must live or work in The Woodlands or be a member at Carlton Woods, The Woodlands or Cannongate golf clubs. Players will be split into championship and senior divisions.
In addition to the championship, there will also be a community scramble. Teams of four people from the community will compete Nov. 12 at The Woodlands Country Club's Palmer Course.
“This is an opportunity for participants to enjoy a day of golf on a local course, have fun and raise funds for the many services Interfaith provides each day to our community,” said Ann Snyder, president and CEO of Interfaith, in the press release. “Interfaith is thrilled and honored to be the beneficiary of the golf tournament. All the proceeds will benefit Interfaith’s many programs and services.”
