Abandoned building on Roy Street to be demolished Aug. 4
The Magnolia Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association will demolish a defunct building located at 158 Roy St., in Houston, on Aug. 4 as part of the Keep Montgomery Beautiful project.
The event will begin at 8 a.m. Volunteers from local neighborhoods, businesses, schools, organizations and government will participate in the demolition. Local company DLG Timber will bulldoze the building and collect the demolished materials. The Waste Corp. of America will provide trash bins for the wreckage and will dispose of the waste.
The MCPAAA is demolishing the building because it has been abandoned and ruined. The demolition is the first in the MCPAAA's Keep Montgomery County Beautiful project. As part of the project, all special events in Magnolia will be litter-free and have recycling containers.
Magnolia Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association is located at 18111 Buddy Riley Blvd., Magnolia.
