Ironman Foundation donates $10K to Interfaith Woodlands
A $10,000 donation is boosting a local triathlon's fundraising efforts.
The donation was made by the Ironman Foundation to Interfaith of the Woodlands, a charity partner with the Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas Triathlon.
More than 700 volunteers provided 2,300 hours of service during six days to support the race. This year's triathlon was held May 19.
"Volunteering at this annual event is a unique and fun opportunity for Interfaith volunteers and staff as well as local residents to participate in the event while helping to raise money for charity," said Ann Snyder, president and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands, in a press release.
"Interfaith volunteers played an integral part in the success of the event and we are pleased to make this contribution," said Greg Pennington, Ironman volunteer coordinator. "The Ironman Foundation is dedicated to giving back to our race communities in a lasting way and we are proud to support the programs of Interfaith."
