Little chefs take to kitchen to master their own sandwiches
Woodlands Young Learners Academy students prepare sandwiches with Chef Yoli, becoming chefs for the day themselves.
The Woodlands Young Learners Academy students entered the kitchen recently to prepare sandwiches with Chef Yoli, who joined the academy at the beginning of the year.
Yoli said one of her biggest goals is teaching students healthy eating habits. “I had the opportunity to teach my first class how to make a sandwich, (and) they chose what to put on (them),” Yoli said.
The academy’s goal is to provide a successful and safe academic experience through building values, peer interaction skills and socialization aptitude. Founded in 2007, the academy hosts students as young as 18 months through kindergarten age.
The academy is located at 1500 Woodstead Court. For more information, call 832-257-3563 or visit www.twyounglearners.com.
