Montgomery County’s recently crowned national beauty queens will head the county's Founders Day celebration July 7.

The queens recently participated in a Conroe Symphony Orchestra's patriotic concert at the Ark Church on Monday, June 25. Royalty included Skyler Knight, Little Miss United America; Shaune Stauffer, outgoing Ms. United America and Ms. United America Royal; Terri Jaggers Mrs. United America; Elizabeth Ehrman, Ms. United America Lady; and Lyn Hawthorne-Howard, Ms. United America Elite. They will next play a role in the community celebration of the 175th anniversary of the founding of Montgomery.

Festivities begin at 9 a.m. July 7 at the KOA Community Center, 19785 Highway 105 W., Montgomery, with breakfast and speaker Kameron Searle. Other planned activities include the dedication of the Bell Tower at Fernland at noon and re-enactments by the Rolling Thunder and the Lone Star Chapter Sons of the Republic of Texas. The Thomas Bay Chapter U.S. Daughters of 1812 and the Thomas Jefferson Stubbs Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy will also answer questions about historic buildings in Fernland.
