The Woodforest Charitable Foundation recently awarded a $20,000 donation to Interfaith of The Woodlands for four of its programs.
The money will benefit the School Supply, Serving Our Seniors, Holiday Food and Senior Grocery Delivery programs.
The charity estimates that more than 2,000 children will receive school supply kits from its program this year, as well as a new backpack and voucher to the Hand Me Up Resale Store for a new school outfit.
Its Serving Our Seniors program sends volunteers biannually to complete service projects for seniors, and the Senior Grocery Delivery program gives homebound seniors two bags of food and fresh produce each month.
The Holiday Food program provides turkeys and more to families in need during November and December.
"The Woodforest Charitable Foundation has generously donated to Interfaith of The Woodlands throughout the years," said Ann Snyder, president and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands, in a press release. "Their financial donation is truly needed and we are extremely grateful."
The Woodforest Charitable Foundation was started in 2005 by Woodforest National Banks to help the communities in which its banks are located.
