Spring native arrested after incident at Briarcrest Apartments
Around 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, local deputies were dispatched to a report of gunshots at the Briarcrest Apartments on Brookhaven in South Montgomery County.
Once deputies arrived, they discovered there had been a fight among several people, and when some of those involved tried to drive away, a suspect threw a baseball bat at the car and shattered the driver's window. The driver then crashed into two parked cars. When the occupants were getting out of the car, they heard gunshots and left the scene but returned once deputies arrived.
Spring resident Roy F. Hearn, 35, was arrested for the baseball bat damage and taken to jail.
One person suffered very minor injuries from the vehicle's shattered glass.
Deputies found that a bullet entered the window of a nearby apartment, but no weapon was found, and deputies were unable to identify anyone with a gun.
