Lone Star Corporate College presents social media, legal seminars
The Lone Star Corporate College will offer three professional development seminars in June and July that will cover topics from social media to legal issues.
All courses will be held at the Lone Star Community Building, 5000 Research Forest Drive, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is required for all events.
The "Building Your Brand and Leveraging Your Network" seminar is scheduled for June 21. Cost is $25 and includes lunch. Led by Jefford B. Dixon of Apogee Social Media Group, it will discuss the use of LinkedIn to grow a personal network and build a brand.
Dixon also will lead the "Executing Your Social Media Plan" seminar on June 28. Cost is $25 and includes lunch. Building on the previous workshop, Dixon will discuss the best and worst uses of LinkedIn and how to build with the social media site. It is geared toward businesses and individuals already familiar and active with LinkedIn.
The final seminar, "Life and Death Is in the Details," is scheduled for July 11. It will be led by Gerri Dorsett, owner of Resolve Today and a TMCA credentialed distinguished mediator, and David Swallow, also a TMCA credentialed advanced mediator. Cost is $30 and includes lunch. This session is for attorneys, business owners and those who do business with clients, vendors and subcontractors and will discuss the advantages of mediation and more.
