Lions Club awards Woodlands High $1,000 scholarships
The Woodlands Lions Club awarded three students $1,000 scholarships at the Woodlands High School Senior Award Program on Monday, May 22.
The awards went to Kenza Sidi-Ali-Cherif, Connor Wersterfer and Stephanie Wythe. The presentation to the students was made by Lions Club Scholarship Chairperson Chris Hanson.
“Kenza, Connor and Stephanie have set an excellent example for fellow students to follow and are deserving recipients of these scholarships,” said Hanson, according to a press release. “Helping young people continue their education is one of the challenges our community faces, and it’s a need our club continues to address. We are extraordinarily grateful for the support and contributions we received from members of the community. You are helping us make a difference.”
In addition to the scholarships, the club conducts a variety of projects and events, including the Woodlands Wildflower Festival, eyeglass recycling and countless other community services.
